UVi – Utlimate Weather App (concept)

There’s a saying in the design industry that every designer has to design a weather app at some point in their career. I took on the challenge with two major points in mind. First, I wanted to have both a map radar and a detailed graph in the same app. Second, one-finger navigation for 70% of the app’s features was a must.

Graph Module

For those for whom details matter, the graph module allows you to learn more about the weather than just the temperature. Each graph presents several data types and is separately customizable.

Radar Module

Equally important, the radar module allows the user to check the forecast visualized as an easy-to-understand animation and get a better overview of when and where the weather front is passing.

Weather History

For many outdoor enthusiasts, knowing the weather history is important when choosing their next destination. The UVi app allows you to take a glimpse at what the weather was like in past days and check local weather cameras.

Hour-by-hour

In addition to the main modules, a simple table showing data on an hourly basis is also available, providing a deeper analysis of weather conditions in areas of interest.

Easy one-hand navigation

All major interface elements are positioned near the bottom of the screen for easy thumb reach, while most of the app’s features can be navigated using swipe gestures.
